Good morning!

Today is a reflection day.
I continue to meditate on the 23rd Psalm.  Again, this Psalm is so familiar I often just let it slip by without serious thought.  To slow down and hear it anew is a good thing.  Consider this:
“You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies…” (Psalm 23:5)
The image I have in my mind is of a banquet table set in the midst of a battlefield, and we are invited to sit and eat with the Lord.  He serves, offering rich food and drink.  There is laughter, love and safety.  Meanwhile, our enemies stand by, powerless, frustrated, bewildered, and embarrassed as we ignore them to bask in the Lord’s favor.
So, what battle are you in today?  Now, imagine ignoring your enemy while you sit and dine with the Living God, your loving Lord and your wonderful Savior.  Whenever we are in a fight, rather than to face the enemy, choose to face the Lord.
