Good morning!

Text:  Joshua 16-18; Psalm 57
Psalm 57 was written by David while being pursued by King Saul.  Saul was angry and jealous, so David’s flight was a flight for his life.  The psalm reflects David’s trust of the Lord.  Verse 2 says,

“I cry out to God Most High,
to God who fulfills his purpose for me.”

When life gets tough, we often ask, “Why?”  When things get downright awful, events can seem senseless.  But our great God is always in control, and He is always working out His plan.  He will see those plans through to “fulfill his purpose for me.”
When I am fretting about a problem that seems out of control, I need these words.  When I lay awake at night worrying about a loved one, I need these words.  When I am downcast, having been frustrated by a situation I cannot seem to fix, I need these words. And these words tell me what to do.  I cry out to God Most High.  I find great comfort in knowing that anything that burdens my heart actually serve God’s good purposes.
