Good morning. Today we continue with our Holy Week devotionals.
Wednesday. Pray. Read Matthew 21:23-32. We see how religious leaders challenge Jesus’ authority and we see rebellious hearts.
And when he entered the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came up to him as he was teaching, and said, “By what authority are you doing these things, and who gave you this authority?” – Matthew 21:23
Jesus then tells a parable about obedience. In our lives, in the face of Jesus’ absolute authority, we wrestle with rebellion and obedience. We want to say “yes” to self while Jesus wants us to say “yes” to Him. Where in your life is that struggle most evident right now? Pray, repent and ask the Lord’s help to walk in obedience.
