Good morning!
Text: Lamentations 3-5; Isaiah 29.
Jeremiah, the author of Lamentations, is called “the weeping prophet.” The mood of this book is certainly sad. In the midst of it, the light and hope of the Lord arrives. Out of the gloom of despair, the prophet turns to the Lord:
“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,“therefore I will hope in him.”The Lord is good to those who wait for him,to the soul who seeks him.It is good that one should wait quietlyfor the salvation of the Lord. (Lamentations 3:24-26)
No matter how deep the despair, no matter how difficult the journey, no matter how dark the day, the Lord is able to bring hope and light. When we are His, our soul will remind us that he is our portion. We will be blessed as we wait upon Him, knowing that His salvation will come.
in Him, Mike
