Today is a reflection day.
Ecclesiastes is challenging – a treatise that teaches us that life without God is futile and vain, while the wise will choose to live in obedience to God. I have been thinking about this verse:
The more words, the more vanity, and what is the advantage to man? (Ecclesiastes 6:11)
When it comes to faith, there is way too much thinking and talking. The core of the matter is really simple, short and sweet. God is real, so trust and obey Him. Most all of the Word of God is straightforward, but we can put all sorts of nuanced thought on top of it. The message is simple. Jesus is Lord. Jesus saves. Love Him. Love others. Quit thinking and talking so much and just do as He says; “Come, follow me.”
