Good morning!
Text:  1 Samuel 16-19; Proverbs 27:1-14
Every time I read these words, I smile:

Whoever blesses his neighbor with a loud voice,
rising early in the morning,
will be counted as cursing. (Proverbs 27:14)

My dad was a morning person, an early riser.  He always greeted the day and those around him with hale and hearty good cheer.  My memories of him are good, but sometimes his dawn greetings were a bit much.  I know I am a morning person as well. “Good morning!  Don’t like it so loud?  Don’t be so grumpy…”
In my reading of this verse this morning, I am reminded that there are parts of me just being me that may annoy or offend.  Moreover, there are some things about you just being you that I need to be sensitive to – to appreciate and to consider.  I pray that I would be mindful of those around me – to “turn down” myself for their sake.  And maybe you need to pray that prayer for yourself, too.
in Him, Mike
