Good morning!
Text:  Joshua 1-3; Psalm 52
As the Lord prepares Joshua to lead God’s chosen people into the promised land, He repeats a message to Joshua several times:

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)

As New Testament followers of Jesus, it is our assignment to lead people whom God has chosen to the “promised land” – the glorious future God has prepared for his own. In that light, these words are for us today.  There are two things commanded here – to be strong and to be courageous.  There are two things prohibited – fear and dismay. And the a reason is given why we ought to be able to obey – “the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”  So, how about us?  Are you strong this day?  How about courageous?  Or do you feel fear and dismay?  If the latter two apply, let this Word be remind you of the promise of His presence.  Celebrate His presence in worship. Engage His presence in prayer.  And you will receive strength and courage.
in Him, Mike
