Good morning!
Text:  Matthew 14-16; Psalm 64
In Matthew 14 we find Jesus feeding a great crowd with just five loaves of bread and two fish.  After this miracle, he sent the disciples across the lake by boat and dismissed the crowds.  The text says (Matthew 14:23):

And after he had dismissed the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray.

When things get busy, it is hard to set aside time to be alone with the Lord.  The press of activities, responsibilities, people and deadlines can sweep me through my day until it is bedtime… and then I wake up the next morning and realize I went all day without quiet time with the Lord.  It is powerful and instructive to know that Jesus stopped, got alone and prayed.  Prayer is our lifeline. Prayer is our power line.  Prayer is our oxygen line.  It is essential – over and above anything we might think we must get accomplished.  Prayer is an accomplishment.  It connects us with the Living God, aligns our heart with His, our will with His, and brings us the power, strength and confidence we need.
Stop.  Get to a quiet place.  And pray.  Everyday.  Starting right now.
in Him,  Mike
