Good morning!

Text:  Exodus 25-27; Proverbs 4
Proverbs is characterized as “wisdom literature.”  It is a wonderful compendium of God’s truth in practice, worthy of careful reading, meditation and memorization.  In today’s reading, we find this treasure:

“But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn,
which shines brighter and brighter until full day.” (Proverbs 4:18)

What a vision of our lives as followers of Jesus.  Washed by His blood, we are “the righteous.” And the lives we live begin with the first glimmer of hope – like the first light on the eastern horizon after a long and dark night.  And as we walk with Jesus, that light grows and grows and grows until all the dark shadows must flee as they are replaced by the blazing light of the full day sunshine. Ever think of yourself like a brilliant light, brighter than the noonday sun?  Ever think of yourself as the unstoppable force that puts darkness to death?  What a glorious responsibility and privilege we have.  As Jesus said, “You are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14).  Amazing.  “Let your light so shine…”
in Him, Mike
