Good morning!
Text:  Exodus 21-24; Proverbs 3
These passages in Exodus bring a lot of detail about how the Law (the Ten Commandments) is to be practiced among the people of Israel.  It is interesting how things like stealing are prohibited, and yet the text tells how do deal with theft.  It is clear from the get-go that humans will never be capable of perfect obedience.  That’s why we need a savior.  One verse that caught my eye was Exodus 23:19:

The best of the firstfruits of your ground you shall bring into the house of the Lord your God.”

Our Lord deserves the very best of what we have and of who we are.  Sometimes that can be a struggle, as we can so often think of ourselves first.  I am challenged to ask myself what I might be holding back.  Perhaps I am clinging to something I need to release.  How about you?
