Good morning!

Today is a reflection day.

Both Isaiah and Jeremiah wrote during times of great inflection in the course of God’s history.  The Jews, His chosen people, had decisions before them, and the prophets were given visions of horrible catastrophe to help them see a future without God.  They are intense and compelling.   The Lord also gave visions of future beauty, peace, safety and provision so they could see what was in store for those who choose to love God. The big message – “In these difficult times, know that I love you.  Now, choose me and live.” As I reflect today, I will be thanking the Lord for the tapestry of His Word.

To start my day, I glanced back over what I have recently underlined as I have been reading.  This gem sparkled at me:

O Lord, you are my God;
I will exalt you; I will praise your name,
for you have done wonderful things,
plans formed of old, faithful and sure. (Isaiah 25:1)

The Lord indeed has done wonderful things that we might draw near to Him. And just think, the Lord God has things in store for us today that he planned “of old, faithful and sure.”  Have a blessed day!

in Him,  Mike
