Good morning!

Text:  Mark 10-12; Psalm 19
Psalm 19 is a beautiful celebration of the Word of God.  It concludes with a prayer:
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
    be acceptable in your sight,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.  (Psalm 19:14).
What we say has great impact on others and on our relationships.  To ask that our spoken words ought always be acceptable to God is an easy thing to grasp, but is sometimes a tall order for me.  So it is really is attention getting that the “meditation of my heart” is also subject to God’s observation and approval.  What we say matters, even when we are just talking to ourselves inside our own heads.  In 2 Corinthians 10:5 we are told to “take every thought captive to obey Christ,” and in Philippians 4:8 we are instructed to only think about noble and good things.  I am challenged here to pay attention and to take care of my thoughts, and to develop the habit of confronting my own inner voice when I get out of line.  And this verse reminds me that I need to ask the Lord’s help in this.  Something to think about…
