Good morning!

Text: Mark 4-6; Psalm 18:1-24
In Mark 5 we find the story of a synagogue ruler named Jairus whose little girl gets very sick.  Jairus approaches Jesus for healing. Jesus, and Jesus agrees to accompany Jairus back to the girl.  Before they arrive, they receive news that the girl has died.  Naturally, Jairus and his friends are very distraught.
But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not fear, only believe.” (Mark 5:36)
The game was not over.  Jesus raises the girl from the dead.  The message for us is clear.   No matter how bad the news, no matter how hopeless things seem, Jesus is still able to rescue.  We need not fear, we are to “only believe.”  To believe is to trust.  To believe is to know that Jesus keeps His word.  To believe is to surrender our need to control.  Notice it says “only” believe.  That is all we.  And for me, sometimes that is a tall order.
