Good morning.

We are changing up the blog for the next seven days.  Each day this Holy Week, take some special time to connect with the Lord and allow yourself to be challenged in preparation to celebrate Jesus’ glorious resurrection.  When a jeweler wants to show you diamonds, he often sets them on black velvet under an intense light.  Against the dark background, the beauty of the stone dances and dazzles.  Jesus is that diamond.  The intent of this devotional series is to spread out the black velvet that our celebration of His resurrection might be full and beautiful.

And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”  And when he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred up, saying, “Who is this?” (Matthew 21:9-10)

Today, Monday.  Pray.  Read Matthew 21:1-11, the account of Jesus’ Palm Sunday entrance.  Ask yourself, “What do I expect of Jesus?  And… Is my answer about me?”  Ask the Lord to show you the ways in which pride infects your life and surrender your pride to Him.

in Him, Mike
