Good morning!

Text:  Exodus 35-37; Proverbs 8
In these chapters of Exodus, we read details of God’s people crafting the things of worship – the tabernacle, the ark, the table, the lampstand and the altar of incense.  The Lord is very particular about our worship – and so we should take our worship very seriously.  One verse that made me think is this:

He made the holy anointing oil also, and the pure fragrant incense, blended as by the perfumer. (Exodus 37:29).

There are certain smells that transport me to a time and a place and flood me with memories.  The smell of those wild roses that grow near the beach or the smell of an apple pie in the oven do this. Just a whiff can touch us deeply, changing mood and attitude.  When the Lord gives instructions for perfumed anointing oil and fragrant incense to be used as part of worship, it speaks to how He wants us to worship Him fully.  He wants us to worship with every part of our being, even our noses.  So, I am asking myself, “Will I be ‘all in‘ this coming Sunday morning?” How about you?
