Good morning!
Text: Revelation 3-4; Isaiah 57
The seven letters to the seven churches in Revelation 2-3 are remarkable. In the letter to the church at Philadelphia (the ancient city in Asia Minor), we find these words (Rev 3:8):
“Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut.”
Our God is the God of the open door. He opens doors before us by the power of His Word and the force of His promises. The challenge for us is that He usually just opens the door and calls us to step through. We need to do just that in obedience and in faith. But it is often scary, or requires sacrifice. He seldom gives us a “sense of peace” or a good feeling. He just opens the door and says, “go.” The God who opens the door always has a beautiful plan. Many Christians miss the blessings God has for them because they are afraid to step through that open door. But here’s the deal: the blessing is not on this side of an open door, it is on the other side of the door.
So…. what door is open before you today?
in Him, Mike
