Good morning!
Text: Malachi 1-2; Isaiah 54
The prophets we are reading speak with force and volume. A verse often quoted is Isaiah 54:17:
“…no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed,
and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment.”
In our lives as Christians we are called to be steadfast – to stand firm no matter how we might be attacked. Attacks can come in the form of verbal abuse, threats to our physical safety, dark inner thoughts that bring worry or fear, or attractive lures that appeal to our flesh. The great news is that, no matter how frightening or crafty the “weapon”, it cannot succeed. At least, so says God’s Word. So, why do we falter, stumble or fall? Is it because of our lack of faith? May we be strong in our deep trust of the truth and power of these words: “”…no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed,”
in Him, Mike
