Text: Genesis 15-17; Psalm 6
Genesis is amazing, and today’s text is rich. In it we find Abram receiving God’s powerful covenant promise. When Abram hears God’s words, he believes what God says:
And he believed the Lord, and he counted it to him as righteousness. (Genesis 15:6)
We know that we are saved by grace through faith, It is those who believe who “will not perish but have eternal life.” This verse tells us that our belief in God is not what brings us the righteousness which saves, but rather our belief in what God has said. He says He will never leave nor forsake us. He say we have a great salvation yet to be revealed. He says we have all that we need for life and godliness. He says He loves us. He says He is in control of all things. So, I need to ask myself, “Do I actually believe the Bible?” Do I? Do you?
