Good morning!
Text: Hebrews 11-13; Psalm 27
Hebrews closes with rich and beautiful words of encouragement. Included is this verse:
“For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.” (Hebrews 13:14)
As we live our daily lives, it is so easy to get caught up in the here and now. Our routines, our families, jobs, responsibilities, friendships and recreation can fill up our thoughts and hearts so we forget that all this is just temporary. But our great God has a plan that goes so far beyond. He has prepared a future. He is building a city and a kingdom that will not end – which is our destiny. Today, may we live knowing that what we have here is not lasting, but what is to come is eternal and marvelous. I pray for the right priority – that my heart might rest on the forever things.
