The great impetus for what we do – proclaiming Jesus aloud – is clear in the words of Romans 10:17:
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
It is by faith we are saved, and it is by faith we live (Habakkuk 2:4). That faith “comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” “Word” here refers to the spoken word. So, we preach forth God’s Word every Sunday. We hide the Word in our hearts that we might proclaim it on any occasion. We speak it to one another that our faith might grow and so also our life in faith. And we go out to audiences near and far to speak the word of Christ to unbelievers that they might believe…. and be saved.
The takeaways? Listen to good preaching from the Word. Open your mouth. Speak of Jesus. Often. Always.
