Good morning!
Text: Ezekiel 35-38; Psalm 130-141
A young Christian recording artist, Lauren Daigle, recorded a song entitled “Come Alive.”  The lyrics connect the vision in Ezekiel 37 of the valley of dry bones coming to life with the “prodigals” we love who are not walking with the Lord.  In Ezekiel’s vision, the Lord tells him to speak to the bones and to:

“Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet…” (Ezekiel 37:9-10).

Daigle’s song is a prayer – that the dry bones of our prodigals might come alive, that the breath of God might restore them to Himself.  All of us know prodigals, and many of us are heartbroken over them.  What a wonderful hope we have that our great God can make dry bones live!
