Good morning!
Text: Job 34-36; Isaiah 7
Isaiah is remarkable. It is beautiful poetry, but also very rich in prophecy about Jesus. I bet you caught 7:14,
“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
We know these words are about Jesus because the New Testament (Matthew 1:22) says so. “Immanuel” is Hebrew, and it means “God with us.” These remarkable words were written in about 730 B.C. Incredible!
It amazes me over and over how God’s Word helps us see that God has had a plan from the very beginning to rescue sinners by sending His Son. It is also amazing how the story is completely consistent and coherent. And that is because it is all true. Praise God for His remarkable Word, and especially for His perfect plan of salvation.
in Him, Mike
