Good morning!

Text: 1 Timothy 4-6; Psalm 119:65-80
Throughout the Bible we find words of praise for God, reminders that our highest calling is to give to Him and him alone all the glory.  One of these appears in 1 Timothy 6:15-16:

…he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.

My days are so often filled with earthly concerns – worries about friends and family, health, homeowner distractions, schedules, meetings, meals, fitness workouts and such.  As I swirl in this lesser realm, I can forget how awesome our God is.  Above the earthly plane of our lives is our great Lord and God.  I know I need to be reminded of His majesty.  I need to read words like these aloud, and to emphasize the final sentence, especially the word “Him.”.  “To Him be honor and eternal dominion.” Try reading this aloud yourself.  May these words establish your day.
in Him, Mike
