Good morning!
Text: Mark 6-9; Psalm 18:25-50
In Mark 9 a man brings his son to Jesus. The boy is possessed by a spirit that Jesus’ disciples were unable to cast out. When the man makes his appeal to Jesus, Jesus says,
“All things are possible for one who believes.” (Mark 9:23)
“All things are possible.” Really? What matter have you been struggling with in your life? What obstacle has you stymied? What fear has you stuck in your tracks?
Jesus casts the demon out and the boy is healed. Later, the disciples ask him why they had been unable to cast the spirit out. Jesus’ reply?
“This kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer.” (Mark 9:29)
We need to connect these two ideas. No matter the challenge, if we believe we can know a solution is possible. To get to victory, our greatest task is prayer. When we pray we are demonstrating our dependence upon the Lord… our belief that He alone is able. Belief and prayer when combined open any and all doors.
