Good morning!

Today is a reflection day.
The scene following the rebuilding of the wall of Jerusalem, where Ezra reads the Word of God to the people really stands out.
So Ezra the priest brought the Law before the assembly, both men and women and all who could understand what they heard, on the first day of the seventh month.  And he read from it facing the square before the Water Gate from early morning until midday, in the presence of the men and the women and those who could understand. And the ears of all the people were attentive to the Book of the Law. (Nehemiah 8:2-3)
Imagine this.  The people have returned from captivity in Babylon and are probably hearing the reading of God’s Word for the very first time.  They are attentive for an entire morning.  What a picture of the piercing power of the Word.  We are so blessed to have it at our fingertips.  Praise God for His precious Word!  The issue for us today? To be attentive to it.
