Good morning!

Text: 2 Corinthians 4-6; Psalm 113

Some people think that becoming a Christian is a step into perfection.  We ought to be flawless, sinless, without weakness, failures or mistakes.  Not true!

But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. (2 Cor 4:7)

The “treasure” is the glorious Gospel of Jesus.  That treasure is the truth that, in spite of our brokenness and our horrible rebellious hearts, Jesus died for us.  We are freely forgiven, fully restored, not because of anything we did to merit His favor, but just because of His love. The beautiful thing is that our lives are just  jars are clay – weak and breakable.  It is in our weakness that Jesus can shine.  It is when we crack that it becomes evident that Jesus is real.  When our jar cracks, the light of Jesus blazes forth. When we hide our “cracks” from the world around us, we are actually hiding the power of Jesus in our lives.  The more real we are about our struggles and failures, the more impact we will have for Jesus.
