Good morning!
Text: 1 Corinthians 1-2; Psalm 96
We live in a world where intellectual types are routinely critical of our faith and of the words of the Bible. When we present to Gospel, it often seems to “fall on deaf ears.” Even our close friends and family members can grow impatient and even hostile to our attempts to tell them of Jesus. There is a reason, a deep spiritual truth found in 1 Corinthians 2:14:
The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.
It is only by the power and intervention of the Spirit of God that unbelievers are made able to understand. Our best persuasion, our most convincing arguments, our compelling personal testimonials will all fall short unless the Lord does the awakening. Our part is to proclaim. His part is to give the gift of faith. Which means we also have the task of prayer.
So- whom in your life is resistant to the Gospel? Pray for them and do not stop telling them about Jesus. Who knows but that today is the day the Spirit will open their heart.
in Him, Mike
