Good morning!

Text:  1 Chronicles 12-14; Ecclesiastes 12
In Ecclesiastes 12 we read of the contributions – in this case groups of men – which the various tribes of Israel made towards the establishment of David as King.  Included are these words:

Of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, 200 chiefs, and all their kinsmen under their command. (1 Chronicles 12:32)

To receive vision, we look to the Lord.  We may know where we are going, but to get there takes strategy and planning, and those require wisdom.  To receive wisdom, we ask the Lord. Sometimes He speaks clearly by His own voice.  More often, he sends us wise and understanding people. Such were these men of the tribe of Isaachar.  The verse says that they understood the times.  Do we?  If we do not, how will we know what to do?  Has the Lord sent us people of understanding to help us know what to do?  Do we listen?
