Good morning!
Text: 2 Kings 5-7; Psalm 87
In 2 Kings 6, the Lord supernaturally enables Elisha to advise the king of Israel about the secret plans of the king of Syria. When the Syrian king finds out about it, he sends a posse after Elisha who is holed up in a place called Dothan. In the morning, when teh Syrian army has encircled the town, Elisha’s servant looks out and sees them and is frightened.
Then Elisha prayed and said, “O Lord, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. (2 Kings 6:17)
There is a great and unseen realm all around us. When you look out this day, what do you see? Is it scary, threatening or discouraging? What we see is never all that there is. Our great God’s invisible hand is always at work, and He is powerful as well as good. His unseen forces are much greater than we could ever imagine. To trust in Him is always the right choice.
in Him, Mike
