Good morning!

Text:  Philemon; Psalm 85
Philemon is a book we seldom study.  Like all Scripture, however, it is rich in truth and power for us.  Consider these words:

…I hear of your love and of the faith that you have toward the Lord Jesus and for all the saints, and I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for the sake of Christ.  For I have derived much joy and comfort from your love, my brother, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you. (Philemon 5-7)

When we speak of sharing our faith, we usually think of telling unbelievers about Jesus.  But these words turn our attention to a different audience.  Have you ever thought how important it is to share our faith with one another?  By “faith” I mean the depth of our trust for the Lord, our knowledge of His very presence, our complete belief in His power and His goodness, and our trust that He will keep every promise which He has made.  Sometimes I get wrapped up in some swirl of concern for issues of life and of ministry.  I am always so very blessed when a brother or sister takes me God-ward and shares their faith in Jesus with me.  “Refreshed” is the word. Perhaps this day we might all find an opportunity to refresh one another.
