Text: Romans 9-11; Proverbs 21:17-31
A key verse in these passages of Romans is 10:9:
…if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
I recall meeting with a woman once who complained that she had never felt “saved”. She said that her faith seemed powerless, lifeless. We spoke of this verse, and I asked her, “Have you ever said right out loud that ‘Jesus is Lord’ of your life?” She had not. I suggested she might do that, in light of the promise of this verse. She did, and it changed her life. I was going to write that this was an amazing event until I thought better of it. Our God keeps His promises – and this verse is indeed a promise. If you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and speak truth into your life about His Lordship, God will deliver. So, have you said it? Have you proclaimed out loud that “Jesus is Lord” over your life?
