Good morning!
Text: 1 Samuel 13-15; Proverbs 26:17-28.
The story line in 1 Samuel is fascinating, and there is much to be learned.  That said, it was a Proverb that caught my attention this morning:

For lack of wood the fire goes out,
and where there is no whisperer, quarreling ceases. (Proverbs 26:20)

This is certainly true.  When we have a disagreement we so often seek out others to agree with us.  When the other party does the same, factions form – and this can be very destructive to the Body of Christ.  The “whispering” that goes on is the fuel for the fire that can destroy our unity and our witness to the world.  There has been some dissension in my life of late. These words are prompting me to ask myself, “Am I a ‘whisperer’?”  If the answer is “yes”, the truth of this Proverb is clear.  I need to be still, and keep my complaints between just myself and the Lord.
