Good morning!

Text:  1 Samuel 4-6; Proverbs 25:1-14
In 1 Samuel 4-6 we read the story of the loss and recovery of the ark.  The Israelites take the ark into battle, treating it like a rabbits foot to bring them fortune, rather than as the seat of their worship of the Living God.  The Philistines capture the ark, and after they experience a season of torment, they send it back on a cart pulled by two milk cows. When the ark returns, God’s people are glad to see it:

Now the people of Beth-shemesh were reaping their wheat harvest in the valley. And when they lifted up their eyes and saw the ark, they rejoiced to see it. (1 Samuel 6:13)

When we feel like we have been apart from God, how do we respond?  Rejoicing is the right response.  His presence brings us truth, love, power, protection, guidance and peace.  Aren’t you glad Jesus is in your life, the Holy Spirit is right with you, and you can never be separated from His love?  Reason to rejoice.
in Him, Mike
