Good morning!
Text: Deuteronomy 5-7; Psalm 41
Deuteronomy 6:5 contains what Jesus said was God’s greatest commandment:
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.”
The centerpiece of all that God wants of us and for us is love. What a wonderful truth. He does not demand subjection or blind obedience or suffering, but love. And by His love, He has made it possible for us to love Him. He made the first move when He sent Jesus. He showed His love for us first in that Jesus died for us when we deserved it the least (Romans 5:8). And The Lord tells us in His Word that “we love because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19).
His greatest command is that we love Him with all we have – all our heart, all our soul and all our might. So… do we?
