Good morning!
Text: Deuteronomy 1-4; Psalm 40
Psalm 40 is a favorite for me, especially the opening verses:
I waited patiently for the Lord;
he inclined to me and heard my cry.
He drew me up from the pit of destruction,
out of the miry bog,
and set my feet upon a rock,
making my steps secure.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear,
and put their trust in the Lord. (Psalm 40:1-3)
These words remind us that our worship of the Lord is rooted in our salvation. He rescued us from the “miry bog” of our sin and set our feet “upon a rock.” Our salvation is so sweet, and our Savior is so great that we cannot keep quiet about Him. So we sing a new song, one of praise. When others see us in genuine worship, they, too, come to Him. True worship is contagious. May it be so with ours.
