Good morning!
Text: Acts 10-12; Proverbs 11:1-15
In Acts 10 we read of how the Gospel breaks out into the world of the Gentiles – the non-Jews – as Peter is led to the home of Cornelius, a Roman Centurion. When Peter describes the scene to the Jewish believers in Jerusalem, he says this:
As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them just as on us at the beginning. (Acts 11:15)
When we are given the opportunity to share Jesus with someone, we are never alone. The Holy Spirit is in us, giving us the words to say. And the Holy Spirit is also at work in the heart of those we speak to. It is the Spirit who opens the hearts of unbelievers. It is the Spirit that brings the new life. That is great news. It means that when we share Jesus, the power that brought Jesus back from the dead is at work. And it means we do not carry the weight of making things happen because the Lord will do it. Maybe today you will have the chance to tell someone about Jesus. Go for it! You are not alone.
