Good morning!
Text: Revelation 13-14; Isaiah 62
Dawn on Christmas Eve brings a day that will conclude with joyous worship.  It has been a season of many special and extra activities and events, a time of busy and overcrowded schedules.  As I encounter Isaiah 62 this day, I am brought to consider verse 11:

Behold, the Lord has proclaimed
to the end of the earth:
Say to the daughter of Zion,
“Behold, your salvation comes;
behold, his reward is with him,
and his recompense before him.”

As Jesus comes to earth – God made flesh – He is our salvation.  When Jesus comes into our hearts and lives, He brings His reward, and His “recompense” goes before Him.  “Recompense” means payment to alleviate suffering.  So, Jesus saves, and Jesus pays for our sins.  He rescues us and delivers us from every pain and suffering.  No wonder we sing, “Joy to the world!”
