Good morning!
Text: 2 Thessalonians; Isaiah 42
These sweet words of blessing touched me as I read 2 Thessalonians today;
Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word. (2 Thess 2:16-17)
There are two blessings here. The first is the blessing of comfort for our hearts. So many things disturb our inner selves – fears, worries, griefs and anxieties. Jesus our Lord and God our Father love us fiercely and are able to bring us comfort… in fact they already have. As the text says, we have been given “eternal comfort and good hope through grace.” Does your heart need comfort today? Comfort is already ours when we need it.
And the second blessing is having our hearts “established in every good work and word,” That speaks to foundation, purpose and focus. Today, may all that we do and say be grounded in our “eternal comfort and hope.” We are just fine, and we know what the future holds. Amen.
in Him, Mike
