Good morning!
Today is a reflection day.
Proverbs 27:1 is a powerful reminder of the importance of today; “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.”  Yesterday matters in that our past brought us here to this day, and our experiences in part define us.  But we cannot change a single thing that is past.  Yesterday is set, frozen in place and unchangeable.  We can inspect it, but we cannot act upon it.
Tomorrow is unknown.  Only God knows the future. We can craft predictions, we can have expectations, we can make plans.  But, we cannot know what even a single day might bring.  There might be great blessing just ahead, or catastrophe.  We might meet someone who will have profound influence on our lives, or lose one who we were counting upon.  The fact is, our best plans presume upon a future which we cannot know.
Today, this day, is different.  Today we have choices before us.  We are able to act and interact in this present moment. This moment is where eternity and our life actually intersect.  James treats this same subject in 4:13-17, and concludes with these words, “ So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.”  We will live out this day on the knife edge between good and evil, between obedience and sin.  And, unlike yesterday which we cannot change and tomorrow which we cannot know, today we can make a difference.  It is said that our Christian life is defined by “doing the next right thing.”  Therefore, choose well in this day.
