Good morning!
Text: Numbers 18-21; Psalm 33
Psalm 33 is a great way to start the day! Right now the house and neighborhood is very quiet – it is yet dark in the pre-dawn. Imagine opening the windows on a quiet early morning and beginning the day with this:
“Shout for joy in the LORD.” (Psalm 33:1)
I think that would be a far better way to begin the morning than quietly reading and tiptoeing about. (I do think of Proverbs 27:14 “Whoever blesses his neighbor with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, will be counted as cursing”). But imagine if we were quick to be really vocal and excited about our great God. Imagine if our worship times were more like the stands in a championship game. Imagine if our energy was like the sports fans whose team has just won the big one.
Our LORD is incredible. He has pure and perfect integrity (v4), He is both good and loving (v5), powerful (v6-7) and due all awe (v8). He commands all history (v9-12) and He is Lord of every one of our lives (v13-18), our Savior (v19), our help and our shield (v20). Wow, wow, and wow again! Time to shout and cheer and rejoice.
I am glad I read this Word this morning. I hope you are too.
“Our heart is glad in Him, because we trust in His holy name.” (Psalm 33:21).
in Him, Mike
