Good morning!
Text: Exodus 38-40; Proverbs 8
Proverbs 8 extols the virtues and character of wisdom. In 8:22-23 we read a powerful idea, expressed using the voice of wisdom as if it were a person:
“The Lord possessed me at the beginning of his work,
the first of his acts of old.
Ages ago I was set up,
at the first, before the beginning of the earth.”
In an adult Sunday school we were studying Genesis, and our discussion lingered on how to reconcile science with the Bible. Science has discovered that the universe operates within a set of physical laws – beautiful, complex and quite amazing. We know where they came from. Wisdom was prior to creation, and wisdom belonged to the Lord. God knew what He was doing before He began. When we see the perfections of His creation, and when we see the sweep of redemptive history, it is obvious God had a plan. Amen?
