Day 4
We’ve got one day left of camp this year! Thanks again for sharing your campers with us, as we’ve had a blast! Tomorrow the weather is looking pristine, and we have a lot of special fun planned for our final day of camp!
Before I share the details for tomorrow, I’d like to personally invite any and all of y’all to come check out one of the two churches that put on this camp – the Congregational Church of Eastford (the church I am a pastor at) and Living Proof Church (where Pastor Pat pastors).
- CCE meets every Sunday at 10am right at the Eastford Elementary school gym! We have childcare and classes for kids who are Sports Camp age! For more info on our church, check out our website here<<<
- Living Proof is in Ashford, and meets every Sunday at 10am at 38 Pompey Hollow Rd in Ashford (right on route 44 across from Cumberland Farms). For more detailed information on their church, visit their website here<<<
On behalf of both our churches, we just want to thank you for a great week! Here’s the details for our final day!
- Tomorrow is Friday Funday! Campers are encouraged to dress in whacky tacky outfits, hats, etc. that still allow them to participate in their sports!
- We have our campers vs. coaches scrimmage tomorrow at 11:35 that families and friends are invited to come watch! Our closing rally is also a lot of fun, with the winners of Change4change being announced, and the losing coaches getting pied by campers!
- We would also like to invite y’all to stay for a free hot dog lunch after camp is let out. Hot dogs, snacks, water and snowcones will all be provided! Stick around and get to know the coaches and staff!
- Sign in will be back behind the school again, as will sign out. For those coming to watch the scrimmage, you can do the sign out process on your way in to watch the game!
Thanks again for a great week, and looking forward to our final day with your campers! Woohoo!
Evan Burgess, Camp Director
Day 3
Your campers were awesome today, despite being inside for the whole morning! We found a way to have just as much fun, and I want to give a shout out to all your campers and all our coaches! Looks like we might be in for more rain tomorrow, so we will plan for our drop off process to be the same tomorrow. Read the rest of this email carefully for important details!
- Check-in will NOT happen behind the school tomorrow, but via the main entrance of the school! A reminder that you cannot just drop your camper off, but you must bring them in and check them in with our sign in/sign out team! We will try to provide as much rain cover as possible out front. Check in will open as usual at 8:30, and camp will start at 9am. Camp runs until 12:15, the sign-out process opens at 11:45, but campers won’t be released until 12:15.
- Make sure your campers wear shoes! Campers for football/soccer can still bring their cleats, as we may still get outside for some of camp tomorrow, But they will need shoes for inside!
- Be prepared for your camper to be wet at pickup! Depending on how much rain we get, we may still be partially outside. So heads up, you may have a soggy camper at pick up!
- If you haven’t already, please return your RSVP for our free hot dog lunch on Friday! Thankfully the weather is still looking clear for lunchtime Friday! Please join us for free hot dogs and snow cones!
- Reminder to have your campers fill out the green Day 3 sports flashes this afternoon, and have them return the cut off tab to return for entry into our daily raffle!
- Change4Change so far: Girls-$222.83, Boys-$203.53
- Please remember to avoid parking near the Eastford Town Hall building!
Day 2
Our camp will run rain or shine for the same allotted time, but there are some important changes on check-in/check-out. Please read this carefully for our rainy day plan for tomorrow!
- Check-in will NOT happen behind the school tomorrow, but via the main entrance of the school! A reminder that you cannot just drop your camper off, but you must bring them in and check them in with our sign in/sign out team! We will try to provide as much rain cover as possible out front. - If you haven’t already, please return your RSVP tomorrow for our free hot dog lunch on Friday! Thankfully the weather is looking clear (at least so far lol) for lunchtime Friday! Please join us for free hot dogs and snow cones!
- Reminder to have your campers fill out the orange Day 2 sports flashes this afternoon, and have them return the cut off tab for entry into our daily raffle!
- Change4Change so far: Girls-$77.98, Boys-$99.56
- Please remember to avoid parking near the Eastford Town Hall building!
- Evan Burgess (Camp Director) phone number is 860-794-0045. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to him with any other questions or concerns!
Day 1
- For the remainder of the week, PLEASE AVOID PARKING NEAR THE TOWN HALL*** during drop off and pick up. We’re going to do our best to mark off which spots are off limits for camp, but please avoid all the spots close to the town hall building, above and below.
- We do have some rain in the forecast later in the week. We are prepared for camp rain or shine! We are able to move inside during torrential rain or anytime there is thunder and lightning. However, we are not afraid to get wet as well! Your camper may be wet at pickup depending on the day, so be prepared. For Wednesday, as of right now it’s looking like A LOT of rain, so keep an eye out for my email tomorrow with details for check in and check out, as we may move that process inside.
- Make sure your campers fill out their first sports flash paper this afternoon (day 1 is pink, team 45 has day one coloring sheet). They must complete it, cut off and bring the tab with them tomorrow to enter into our daily raffle. We have a separate Sports Flash tent (picture below) where campers can drop off their flashes. This is also where they can contribute to our Change4change.
- You were also sent home with RSVPs for our free hot dog lunch on Friday. Please fill that out and bring it tomorrow if possible, Wednesday the latest!
- Reminder that starting tomorrow, sign in and sign out starts at 8:30!
Your campers may be asking you about the music we listen to this week, and you can find the playlist of songs below:
