Good morning!
Text:  Job 40-42; Isaiah 9
Today is a Scripture bonanza!  Job’s story is resolved, and Jesus is prophesied in Isaiah 9.  Wow!
Isaiah’s prophecy is beautiful, amazing, and familiar.  Consider that it was written seven centuries before Jesus would come to dwell among us.

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and of peace
there will be no end,
on the throne of David and over his kingdom,
to establish it and to uphold it
with justice and with righteousness
from this time forth and forevermore.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this. (Isaiah 9:6-7)

Jesus fulfills this prophetic word… but only partially at this point. He indeed was born, He indeed is a gift to God’s people, and He indeed is called by these powerful titles by those who know Him.  We can look forward with certainty to that glorious Day when He will take charge as King, bring peace without end, serve justice and establish righteousness among us all.  I cannot wait!  Perhaps today…
in Him, Mike
