Chalk drawing - Concept of fearless

Good morning!
Text:  Today is a reflection day.
I really like the slow read through of Isaiah that this schedule affords us.  Isaiah is a powerful and beautiful piece of Bible literature, rich in content and imagery.  In an earlier read-thru, I underlined two verses, 41:10 and 41:13 .  I often do not know why I underline until I reflect back.  Both verses had the words, “fear not.”
Am I fearful?  My first thought is “no.”  But, on reflection, my peace and joy are often interrupted by anxieties.  Many of them are minor – like how I will get everything done on a particular afternoon.  Many of them are unfounded, like wondering if some little issue of life like an overdue auto emissions test will lead to financial ruin.  Occasionally, the fear is substantial, as a friend or loved one faces a serious illness or relationship crisis.  Just this past week I was in a situation where I feared for my life.
Fear is common I think, and fear is a great and dark enemy.  So these words are important to read, digest, and to own:
“…fear not, for I am with you;
    be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10).
When I was in that life-threatening situation, I cried out to the Lord, and He delivered me.  He was there, just like the Word say.  “I will help you,” He says, and He did.
Fear not!  Amen.   in Him,  Mike
