Good morning!
Text:  1 Thessalonians 1-2; Psalm 147
As Paul opens his letter to the Thessalonians, he writes these words:

We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers,  remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 1:2-3)

Paul is grateful to the Lord for three things about the Thessalonians.  First is their “work of faith” – the deeds we as Christians do because we believe, and sometimes only made possible by our belief.  Second is the labor of love – the motivating force behind Christian effort is not obligation, not fear, but love – love for God and love for people.  And third is their steadfast hope in Jesus.  We know we are His, and we know He wins and so will we.
I know I need to ask myself how much I am like the Thessalonians in my walk with Jesus.  May we all be encouraged to have such faith, love and hope.
in Him, Mike
