Today is a reflection day.
Daniel is quite the prayer warrior. He is committed to prayer, even to his own peril (it got him thrown into the lions’ den). His prayer recorded in Daniel 9 is a powerful example for us all. These words caught an underline in my Bible:
When Daniel knew that the document had been signed, he went to his house where he had windows in his upper chamber open toward Jerusalem. He got down on his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he had done previously. (Daniel 6:10)
I know from experience that there is something extra in my prayers when I kneel. We are holistic beings – spirit, mind, body. When we pray with our whole selves we are fully engaged, truly focused. We are established in our humility before the Lord and rightly acknowledging His sovereignty and majesty. I know this. But, I rarely take that extra step to kneel when I pray. There is much to pray for these days… This Word is prompting me, urging me to get back on my knees.
in Him, Mike
