Good morning!

Today is a reflection day.

Proverbs 24:11-12 has compelling words:

“Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?  Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work?”
It was these words that brought force to the convictions of Christians in Nazi Germany.  Many in the church had acquiesced to the Nazis, but others chose to actively resist.  Many lost their lives, but I offer that their reward in heaven was great as they stood in obedience to these words.

These same words activate the contemporary American Christian to take the holocaust of abortion very seriously.  The Proverb before us tells us to take action to defend the unborn.  It also reminds us that the Lord will hold those who turn a blind eye accountable.  I am so glad our congregation does so much to support Caring Families (our local pregnancy resource center).  So many babies’ lives have been saved!  Pray for the church to stand strong!

in Him,  Mike
