Today is a reflection day.
Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still and know that I am God.” When I was little, “be still” meant to stop talking. But the Word here means to cease from action. The overall context of the Psalm is war, striving and conflict. As I think of these words at the start of a busy Holy Week, they are saying to me – “You can stop struggling. I am God and I have it under control. My plan and my will are in motion…. so you go ahead and be trust instead of striving.”
Is there some area of life where you are trying too hard? Is there some area where you are racing and laboring instead of letting God work? “Be still…” He is God and He’s got it.
in Him, Mike
