Today is a reflection day.
Yesterday morning at the YMCA I spoke with a friend who lost his wife to cancer back on Thanksgiving day. He has been struggling greatly with his grief. He is not a believer. He shared with me that he went to church Easter morning, and heard something that brought him the first light of hope. It was the word of the angels to the women at Jesus’ empty tomb:
“Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen.” (Luke 24:5-6)
Jesus is alive. We do not find Him among the spiritually dead, but rather among those who are spiritually alive – those who are born again. My friend’s name is Peter. I have been speaking to him about the Lord for several years. Now, I am really excited. The fact that God’s Word is speaking to him says the Lord is quickening Peter’s heart. The message of Jesus is indeed the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes (Romans 1:16). Would you pray for Peter? Maybe there are Peters in your life. Pray for God’s awakening in their hearts, too.
in Him, Mike
