Today is a reflection day.
A verse I underlined a few days ago was Psalm 34:18 –
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted
and saves the crushed in spirit.
It grieves our hearts when people who we hold dear experience times of great loss, sorrow or desolation. Many among us are parents of adult children who are struggling in life. The words of this verse remind us that, when we are brokenhearted, when our spirits are crushed, the Lord comes near and brings salvation. When we come to end of ourselves, we find the Lord there waiting for us. It is when we get to the bottom of the pit that we look up and see Him. If you know someone who is in a bad way and does not know the Lord, be hopeful. He is near to them. And they may be on the cusp of that awakening to Jesus you have been praying for.
in Him, Mike
